Check out this great ad from 2001 featuring then amateur rider James Stewart and his custom CTi2 knee braces. This was at the very beginning of the safety revolution that saw knee braces being made for the masses. The Innovation Sports braces were custom measured and built for each individual and often required a doctor’s prescription to do so. A very cool look back at the protection in the sport.
Scott Goggles unveiled a brand new goggle in 2001/2002 with the all new Hi-Voltage Goggle. A step away from the traditional model 89 that they used for many years, the Hi-Voltage featured a new air management system to keep the riders face cool and fog free. The strap out-riggers allowed for a better fit and the No Sweat III face foam added to the comfort.
In 2001, No Fear was one of the premier brands of clothing in the sport. They set the standards for style and protection and sponsored athletes like Suzuki’s Travis Pastrana in the motocross and supercross series.
